Puerto Plata: Beginning the 27 Waterfalls hike

Jarabacoa: my first time rafting & I didn't fall in!
Santiago: Luis' awesome Home Home

Jarabacoa

Destination wedding for Luis & Antonia in Jarabacoa. Best wedding ever! Beautiful mountain city where the fog kisses the mountains every morning, and the nights are cool and you're sung to sleep by the rhythmic rainfalls.  360 degrees view of layers upon layers of mountains no matter if you're in the mountains or at the beaches of Puerto Plata. Awesome home-cooked meals by mom and aunties. Danced much bachata and merengue, and most of all, drank lots of fresh coconuts! How everything stood still for a moment of timelessness yet washed away so quickly by the ongoing tides. Traveling reminds us of how lucky & unlucky we are, depending on which angle you look at it.

Its been a while, but finally developed some dust-gathering rolls and was delightfully surprised and oh so glad these moments were captured. All in all, 2011 was a beautiful year.

back to the drawing board

Inspired by a photo by Yuri of a currywurst all-in one business. Made this card for Stef after she got brushed by a blind idiot while she was biking home after bbq-ing at our new apt. We're hunting for helmets now!!

My rendition of Stefanie Bessman's (heyheyhonety.blogspot.com) photograph of me and my boy when we were in Panama. Something about it brings me much joy :)

Boquette view

We were there for 8 days. What a beautiful country! We hostel hoped, stayed at Spanish by the Sea (a spanish-teaching school) at Bocas del Toro. Stayed at its sister school Spanish by the River in Boquette. We got plenty of sun, saw dolphins, played with starfish, and snorkled in Bocas. In Boquette, we saw beautiful mountain views, horseback riding, hot springs with monkey & goat company, swam in a freezing cold river, and ended with an awesome coffee tour at Casa Ruiz. What a trip! Highly recommended.
